What the hell is up with no comments? Vintage British comedy might be above most of your fans. Although, you're dead on with Monty Python. I'm also a fan of the great Mr. Bean... For the cross examination portion, what are some of your favorite American comedies? I'm going to guess South Park makes your list, so you can leave that one off. We both agree on that... American sitcoms have dropped in quality, but I'll give Seinfeld as an "oldish" favorite, and Modern Family as a new favorite. Give me a couple of yours... While we're at it, here's a few more questions. I feel that you can find out a lot about someone by the entertainment that entertains them. (Naming a few answers for each question is fine... So, no lame, "it's too hard to choose" responses) What's your favorite movie? What's your favorite band? What's your favorite book?... And which condiment would you never use? a)Ketchup b)Mayo c)Mustard
Hmm....I love mental challenges, but can't bring myself to consistently favor comedy or music that is complex. I like subtlety often times, but that is not the same thing. As far as TV comedy, for me The Chappelle Show is what makes me laugh the loudest and most consistently. He has his own subtlety, and I feel he is a comedic genius but worlds away from Monty Python et al.
I don't know if any of you remember the show that John Cleese was on after Monty Python 1975-1979 called "Faulty Towers". It was quite a hoot.
As far a making me laugh...As was posted above "Southpark" is likely on most lists...I also enjoy Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" He doesn't cut anyone any slack, especially the politicians that he invites onto the show."
